Thought of the day–7/31/2012–Tuesday Rant Day

So, today is Tuesday, and it is therefore my rant day.  Yay!  I love to rant.  So, today’s rant will not really relate to being fat, although there will be a tiny little blurb about fatassedness in it at the end.  But anyways, I was just getting ready to go to bed last night when an article on Yahoo caught my eye.  It was titled “Zombies Show Up To Counter Westboro Baptist Church Protesters”.  Here’s the link:  Zombies Show Up…

Firstly, I would like to rant about the Westboro Baptist Church.  Those people are not Baptists, are not a church, and are not even Christian.  There is no way on the face of this planet that ANY Christian would behave the way that this group does in order to win people to Christ.  They are driving people away from Christ, and giving a bad name not only to Christians, but to all religions.  All they are doing is spreading a story of hate, and I can’t wait for the day that they get what they deserve.  The fact is, these people say that they are protesting homosexuality, and even their “church” website is http://www.godhatesfags.com.   They believe that God hates homosexuality above ALL other sins, and that everything bad that happens in the world is due to His wrath about the world becoming more tolerant of such.  I believe firstly, that God hates NO ONE.  He loves us all.  I do believe that he is disappointed in us when we sin, but in my book, this so-called “church” is worse than almost any other sin that may take place.  I mean, these people are brainwashing their children (which is abuse in my book) to continue to spread messages of hate, and no one is ever going to believe or put their faith in a God that they believe is causing all the terrible things in the world to happen.  And who knows, maybe he is.  I don’t know, I’m not gonna pretend to know what God’s will is.  But, I do believe that he feels no hate for anyone, and to act like a church and spread God’s hate and wrath will make even the most faithful Christian feel at least some animosity towards these people.

Apparently, their “church”/house was bombed in August of 1995, and they were upset because no one would show them any compassion, and they were met with hate at every turn.  Firstly, what do they expect?  They exude hate from every pore of their body, and they expect something different in return?  Did they ever picket themselves, saying they were bombed because God hated them?  Heck no.  I think other people should have though.  I think I am probably right in saying that these are easily the most hated people in America, and they way I see it, they deserve whatever they get.  As the saying goes, “You reap what you sow”.

So, here’s some pictures of the “zombies” from the protest.

So, the comments of most people on this article are supportive of the zombies.  Others are saying that they are no better than the WBC because they are also protesting, and it’s still a funeral.  I have to agree with both sides here.  I’m glad that someone took a stand against those people, but I am not sure if the situation was handled correctly.  I have read other articles about the WBC in the past few days (the seem to be making it into the news a lot, lately), and I like the idea of forming a human wall and not letting them through.  I think this would have been a better way to execute this, but again, I have to give these people props for standing up to the WBC in the first place.

Anyways, here is the second part of my rant.  When I pulled up the story, here was the very first comment:

  • Pogmothoin

Pogmothoin •

Idiots protesting idiots, and notice how fat they are all. You know, a good execise program might help refocus all that energy on both sides.

Seriously?  All this crap going on, and all you can find to comment on is the fact that some of these people may be considered overweight?  Not the fact that people felt they needed to dress as zombies to stand up to a group of hatemongerers that feel they are above the law because half of them are lawyers and all of them are inbred?  This just goes to show the state of people these days.  To pull such a non-related issue as weight into something like this.  People just make me sick.  They really do.  I just don’t understand what goes through the mind of someone who feels the need to spread hate, whether it is over race, sexuality, size, or handicap.  All people have feelings, no matter who they are, and tearing them down and making them feel terrible about themselves is not going to help make a change in their lives.  You can’t expect someone to listen to you or heed your advice when all you do is show them how much you hate them or their lifestyle, and the people who insist on going about doing things this are are idiots and should really look in the mirror before they start trying to fix everyone else.

Thought of the day–7/24/2012 Rant Day!!!!

Hey people!  How are you guys?  Good, I hope. So, today is Tuesday.  What does that mean for those of you reading this post?  It means that it’s time to make a category for Tuesday!  And for those of you who have no idea what I’m talking about, here it is, in a nutshell…I do a “Thought of the day” every Monday through Friday.  Sometimes I have a hard time coming up with something to say without my blog coming across as a rant-fest for every little thing that annoys me.  So, I decided that each day should have it’s own category.  Monday, which was yesterday, was proclaimed “Fat People Problems” day.  Tuesday, (today), I am dubbing “Rant Day”, simply because I feel like I do need a day to rant, and because today, I actually have some ranting to do.  As for the rest of the week, the categories have been decided, but you will just have to check back for the next few days to see what they are!  So, until then, here is “Rant Day” Tuesday, for your reading pleasure.

So how many of you guys have been watching the news lately?  All over the news is talk about the Colorado shooting.  We aren’t gonna talk about that.  In between interviews and thoughts about the Colorado shooting, there are little snippets of this marvelous new law that a certain mayor, cough, cough, Michael Bloomberg, cough, cough, is trying to get passed in New York.  You guys heard about it?  If not, let me enlighten you.  You know how some days, it gets really hot outside, and the inside of your mouth gets all sticky and gross, and you’re like, “Hmmmm….I think I’ll drive on over to McDonalds and get myself a nice large Coke for a buck.”  Well, if Mayor Bloomberg’s law gets passed, you can drive over to McDonalds all you want, but a nice large Coke won’t be what you are leaving with.  Mayor Bloomberg has decided that in order to combat the apparent obesity crisis, he will just take away your right to choose for yourself, and just decide for you.  What he proposes is that you can no longer buy a soda over 16oz. in New York, with the exception of at grocery stores, drug stores, and some convenience stores, due to the fact that they are regulated by the state and would therefore be unaffected.

So let me get this straight…I want a large Coke, but I can’t get one because some stupid asshole decided that he knows what’s better for me than I do?  What the hell?  Next week is he gonna be telling me that I can only order one starch with my dinner or that I’m required to eat a salad?  To me, this is a loss of your fundamental rights as a human being and a citizen of America.  If they can go ahead and pass this law, where will it end?  I can see a future where all food and drink is rationed by how much you weigh, and regardless of health, you will be starved if you can’t get to a certain “normal” weight.  This kind of shit just makes me sick.  Yeah, I know soda makes you fat, that it rots your teeth, that it’s bad for your bones, etc.  But you know what?  That is my choice to make.  My drinking soda affects no one but me.  What about all those smokers out there whose secondhand smoke is causing cancer in the lungs of millions of non-smokers?  I don’t see them going after tobacco and trying to get it banned, even though it is seriously dangerous to your health and will almost definitely cause death at some point.  Just cause you drink a shitload of soda every day doesn’t mean you will die.  And all those people who are moaning and groaning about how much money is being spent on obese healthcare, well how much money is being spent on people with tobacco induced cancer and COPD and emphysema?  Why don’t you stop and think on that for a few moments?

Anyways, this is the end of my rant.  I just wanted to let you know how I feel about it.  Oh, and by the way, this ban doesn’t extend to diet soda, which is the only soda I drink, so it won’t ever affect me, but still, it’s ridiculous.  Leave me a comment with your thoughts.  Do you agree with this?  Disagree?  Let me know!

Thought of the day–7/02/12

As you guys can see, I just started this blog very recently.  Over the past weekend, I got the chance to go visit my family, and while there, I asked many of them if they had found time to read my first few entries.  Overall, I found, my blog was met with misunderstanding and disappointment.  Firstly, the majority of my family is very conservative, so the amount of cursing in my blog was a surprise and a turn-off, especially since I don’t usually curse in my daily life.  Secondly, I guess many of them didn’t like the way that I chose to view people, fat and skinny alike.  What I want everyone to know is that this blog is supposed to give you an insight into the daily lives of overweight people, and it’s also supposed to give you a laugh.  I make fun of everyone in my writing, including myself.  I don’t mean to offend anyone, or, well, I mean to offend everyone.  I’m not sure which.  Either way, I don’t think fat people are better than skinny people or vice-versa.  Everyone is equal in my eyes, whether you need to eat a sandwich or just scarfed down 14 of them.  Also know that I’m writing in an extremely exaggerated and sarcastic caricature of myself and I want you all to know that this is just a writing technique, and is not who I really am.  So please, continue reading my blog and try not to get too offended, because if you are so uptight that you can’t find the humor in what I write, I can’t imagine that I would really want to know you anyways.
